To Tank or Not to Tank in Mobsters

  • HELLO MOBBIES:

For those of you that don’t know, there has been much debate on if it’s worth it to get your stats to 150 energy so that you can do the Rhino Tank mission at level 100. I plan to shed some light on the subject using numbers, and numbers don’t lie!

(Keep in mind that this post is assuming ALL skill points were put solely into att/def. I understand there are many, many more variables at play that can affect the outcome of who would have the stronger mob. Remember, this topic is simply a PROOF OF CONCEPT, NOT an end-all definitive answer to what mob will always be stronger no matter what!)

The tank has an attack of 90. This is 72 more than the Humvees.

The defense is 45, which is 28 more than the SWAT. That is a combined advantage of +100 att/def. Also, in order to have enough energy to do this mission, you’ll need to put your skill points into nothing but energy for over 40 levels.

Now, the tank mission gives you 300 exp points every time you do the mission. This means that you level up every time you get one. (until level 115. This will not make a huge difference in the math at this point and I will explain later)Mobster A has 150 energy. His att/def is at 162. This is a total of 81,000 adjusted att/def, all mob members accounted for.
    Mobster B has 10 energy. His att/def is at 302. This is a total of 151,000 att/def.

What this means, to compare 2 possible level 100 mobsters, who have 500 mob members each, with all the vehicles/weapons maxed out (assuming no skill points were put into either stamina or health, to take those variables out of the equation):

The difference between the 2 mobsters’ stats is B > A w/ 70,000 pts. At this point, Mobster B can easily whoop on A in a fight.

Mobster A gets a tank. He is now level 101.

Mobster B also levels up, and both can put their skill points in att/def. This increases both of their stats by 1,500 each.

Mobster A will also receive the additional +100 stats for the tank. Now the difference is 69,900. Things still aren’t looking good for A’s tender hindquarters.
Mobster A continues getting tanks and leveling up, and Mobster B continues leveling up via other means.
By the time they both hit level 151,
Mobster A will have 50 tanks. The adjusted att/def difference between our two fellow mafioso is now at 65,000, with B still having a very clear advantage. Assuming these two mobbies have been at war against each other this whole time, B will steadily beat the living piss out of A in a fight.

    Fast forward to level 601:

Mobster A now has 500 tanks, one for each mob member. After patting himself on the back, Mobster B attacks him. Uh oh. Mobster B still, after 500 levels, has an att/def strength that’s +20,000 over A. A loses the fight, and now begins to wonder if these tanks were such a good idea. He then becomes very pissed, swears at Mobster B and calls him a cheating *** in his comments, scraps the current profile, makes himself a nice hot bowl of mac and cheese to feel better, and creates a new low-level bounty hunter named NoTanksForMe. The end.

Here is the hiccup: after level 115 or 120, the exp needed to level up jumps to 500. This does throw off some of the original math a bit. The point does still stand: for the fights to even out, it won’t be for quite a long time. This is especially true when you think about how long it takes to refill your energy between missions - approximately 1 day per tank. This means that it’ll take over a year before you have your necessary 365 tanks to beat up on the other mobsters.

My many thanks to Barlow for the information!!

    Until next time

    Capo Tuna

I just invested a lot of points into energy in order to do the tank mission, does that mean now that i wont win anymore fights? did i get that that right?

No…you will still win fights. This is just a very basic mathematical example showing why I do not think the tanks are a good investment. You can take the information and apply it to your mobster accordingly. I will be honest, I have 56 tanks right now. However, given the chance to do it over, I would opt not to get them again. Hope this helps.

The problem is that if you don’t have your energy up to do the tank missions you won’t be able to do the missions to get Police Escorts or Exoskelletons (sp) either. All of these stats add up along with the tanks as well.

Personally I went with thanks and I don’t regret my decision. I have 480 in my mob and I win about 85-90% of the time when I attack and about 70-75% of the time when I am attacked. I actually went to 300 energy to make sure I never waste time not getting it. Good post, just a quick correction: at the end, it says you get enough energy for about 1 tank a day; this is not true. If you don’t waste any, you earn enough energy for 1.92 tanks/day, even more if you chose the insomniac(i think that’s what it is) option at the beginning. So while he says it would take a year to get 365 tanks, it would actually take only 261 days to get all 500.

I went with the tank too because you can get 6 for the price of 1 helicopter. I made the mistake of rushing to the higher level without enough income. At 600,000 x 500 per hour I am way behind. That’s 300 million per hour. ow.

Ok. I am level 192 w/ 78 tanks. I have 92 attack and 244 defense. I rarely attack anyone because a pissed off person probably put me on a vulching list because every time I sign on I look at my broadcasts, seeing it filled with attacks. I win around 3/4 of the fights. But when fighting others I don’t really stand a chance. Do you think it would be a good idea to continue getting tanks? Thanks.

    I have 3 levels of mobsters…

!st one I have tanks… When i reached 150 energy I started to loose fights.. I have only added to defense level 345 and I win most when attacked and loose 80 when I attack someone.

My level 180 I have only 10 energy, 250 health, 6 stamina and all my other skill points are in attack and defense.. 1/4 attack and 3/4 defense.. I win 95% of fights when I attack or get attacked by someone.. over 17,000 wins and less than 1400 losses… This guy is the Ultimate mobster..

after (i can’t remember what level) but when you get to level 400, you need 10k experience to level up, and i have 300 energy to get 2 tanks as often as possible. i think it’s better for an attacking purpose to have tanks when you pass 300… i’ve been splitting it up though between stuff and only have 130 my self, but they work out just fine for me :D

u should invest most points into atk and def of course. but im doing 150 for the tanks. i have 500 mobbies and all r equipped. i dont lose when people attack me but i win when i attack. im lvl 143. im still trying to make some money though. & u dont really need health in the game. the less health u have the less damage u do and ur opponent does.

wait capo!!! this doesnt make sense. so the tanks r a bad idea!!!??? but if u invested into atk and def, then thats like only 3 points. compare that to the 90-45 of the tanks!

but when i lose matches at my level i usually dont lose by much. i atk with 32 and the other guy atks with 35. use that as an example. will the tanks help?

Can’t you buy tanks once you have unlocked them with the mission? By my estimation, I make 202 mil per hour and it would take me 5 trillion to buy all 500… so that is 1 day of not buying anything and I can have 500 tanks at level 100 (I am at 94 as of today) and I will still be getting about 150 mil per day, right?
BTW my stats are 35 att, 50 def, 140 energy, 320 health and 25 stamina. My mobster is the one that gets stamina the fastest. By level 100 I should have my energy at 150 and my health at 400. I lose about half the fights when people attack me but I win 99% of those that I start.

Ok now, lets just say that you are like me, and decide to camp at a lvl with your tanks, lets say, 120. What I mean is, every time you do the tank mission, you gain your 300 experience, but then you kill yourself several times until you lose all 300 exp so you do not level up. And you do that until you have 500 tanks, and you are still at level 120. Who wins then? somehow I’m still doubting that anyone around the level of 120 will be able to come very close to the guy with 500 tanks. And then you do the same at lvl 150 with the police escorts, and then 200 with the exoskeletons. Time consuming? yes. but definitely worth it if no one can touch you.

Do the math. 90 attack points for one tank, the 150 skill points covers everyone in your mob when put into attack or defense. So if you add the 90 points into attack and the 45 into defense it gives you the 500 tanks ability’s. Now you double gun your mobster with humvees and swat… gives you 109 attack and 108 defense per 500.

You and your mob used: 500 Guided Missile Launcher, 500 Humvee, 500 Trans-Kevlar Armed Suit

XxSYLENT KNIGHTxX’s mob used: 262 Rhino Tank, 1 Armored Rolls Royce, 345 S.W.A.T. APC, 508 Advanced Ballistic Armor, 508 10-Liter Sarin Gas Sprayer

You won, dealing 677 damage to your enemy and taking 398 damage. You have gained 154 experience and looted $70,000.

Ok, so I had a level 413 whom after I’d gotten my stats to:
    Attack Strength 210
    Defense Power 557
    Max Energy 200
    Max Health 2650
    Max Stamina 16

I used 500 Sarin gas tanks, 500 Swat APC’s, and 500 of whatever armor had the most defense.

I realized I wasn’t winning many fights I got attacked in, only ones I would attack other’s in. So I decided to make another account, from scratch, it is now level 132 or 133 with the following stats:
    Attack Strength 10
    Defense Power 241
    Max Energy 60
    Max Health 1100
    Max Stamina 8

And I rarely lose a fight I am attacked in, but, as a byproduct of having only 10 attack, I can only win fights with mobs that are 400-, which I expected and am alright with. What I want to know is, is it better to make a tank, if you can call this character a tank (I plan on sticking to this plan, adding points to only health and defense) I’ll leave that name for you to decide, or an even att/def character? I prefer this, because I want to be one of those glorified mobsters on the histlist 24/7 , but I would like your opinion as well.

I still think a lot of the math is off, also around level 300 it takes about 900 experiance points to level up and the math here is only showing it as 300.

The difference from 100 - 500 went from 70,000 to 20,000 using just the 300 points to level up. It does not take into account that fact it goes up to 500 at level 115 and up again to 900 later. Also if you use the free energy link then you are getting about 2 tanks per day not one.

Lets also not forget about anytime you loose a fight your loosing experance also which means your not leveling up at this says you will.

    Level 278, Nightowl
Fights Won: 9904 (96% Winning Rate)
Fights Lost: 402 (or 4 loses out of 100 fights)
    Deaths: 37
    Mobsters Wacked: 142

Attack: 5 (I can control who I attack, enemies w/ under 300 mobbies)

Defense: 702 (I cant control who attacks me, so it all goes into defense)

Energy: 17 (just enuf to cover lower missions for now until mastery; relying on “sent energy”)

Health: 1392 (trying to keep down deaths as attacks get progressively more severe. I’ll probly reduce investing in this)

Stamina: 22 (seems to be enuf to ice someone if they offend me i.e. wound and ice at hospital; But haven’t gotten into it w/ anyone lately. Laying low to build up hourly income to attract more ppl to add me to their top mob. At $424M net income)

Reading everyone’s comments, it seems like those who’ve invested in attack/defense have better winning percentages. Not sure I understand the suicides to stay at one level so that one day they may one day become invincible, while having horrible stats… but I guess to each his own.

Based on just the tank theory then perhaps this is a good ideal but you have to take into account if your doing missions you also can get exo skeletons and police escorts. I don’t even have 200 tanks yet and none of these other items and I win a lot.

Even with not having 500 of each of these, cuz that would take some time. The rough estimate above doesn’t come close to doing the going tank justice. Throw in new items like camo pants and other multipliers.

Say for instance I attack someone at the same level, their camo pants give them a 3000 point boost but yet I am still victorious.

Also if you don’t do the missions you miss out on a lot of great bonus items you get from doing the missions themselves. By far I think you are cheating yourself if you don’t get these added features as they come in quite handy in boosting your mobsters game play.

Once you reach level 400 the number of mobsters with less than 500 mob members is rather low. Phenomenally low at that. I might see two a day at most with 400 mob members.

I don’t see why you guys are still arguing about it. It’s a moot point now. Maxing out on catskill resorts gives you 84 energy without burning skill points; add in energy boosts, 200 free energy a day, and espresso maker and the old math goes out the window.

I went with 150 energy for tanks off the bat, and even without energy boosts i still would have done it when you add in exoskeletons, KGB assasins, police escorts and gunboats.. Also, not everybody will get tons of energy boosts, that takes a big mob, a high bounty, and unfortunately an energy bot. (By the way Place Bounty on “Matteus Fonzinelli” (Minimum of $17,883,187,000) and i return all energy myspace.com/speedygsr ..hehe)

This account’s setup is 181 Attack, 903 defense.. and 373 tanks, 200 exoskeletons, 100 police escorts. Works out pretty good when being attacked, which is what i was going for..

I have 528 tanks and one is the experimental tank. I got my tanks in less than 6 months because of the energy you send back and forth to your mobies. I ralely loose a fight but if you keep getting police escorts as well (to the size of your mob) you will be unbeatable. Twin Gun Kelly

I have a very balanced account and it works well in some ways. It depends h ow you look at it though. I’m still a low level though (somewhat), but here’s how things are going (note I have very few mobbies because I don’t add people I don’t know):

    68 attack, 66 defence, 475 energy, 714 health, 20 stamina

I have an income of 550m and have 1 trillion on hand. I hardly bounty hunt and I don’t focus on attacking. I make huge amounts of money because of my strategy, and I can kill anyone with less than 500 mob (keep in mind I have 24 mob). I’m still level 178 and I intend to my strategy. I didn’t need the rhino tanks.

There’s a few posts here that are educated, and some that aren’t… Today’s “Mobster” doesn’t have to worry about attribute points being placed into Energy. Between the 200 free energy a day that you can get at ( TinyURL.com/PFME200 ), (provided you have a mob size over 300) and passing around energy trades with mobbies, you stand the ability to gain energy without having to place attribute points there… Mobster B, Josh, would be able to level quite quickly this way, provided there’s not a lot of dying going on in his account. David, here’s some math you NEED to apply… Every level, from 1 to 100, you gain the ability to use 5 more weapons, armor, everything, PROVIDED you’ve got the mob members to support it… You having only 24 mob members, you’re fighting with 120 max weapons and such… You could be fighting with 500 (+any hired guns and top mob), if you had more mobbies…

NOW, as far as this subject is concerned… Seems like only a couple people who’ve posted here really get it… So I’ll try to explain in a more direct explanation.

EVERY skill point that you place into attack or defense amounts to 500 “power”… The times in fights where you see “Your attack power increased by 10,465 because of your…” it’s talking about that 500 “Power”… Yeah, the math is spuratic, but that’s what it’s referencing. So if you’re placing attribute points into energy instead of attack or defense, you’re taking away from your power, no matter what weapons/equipment you have… Skill points are the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT aspect to this game. PERIOD. Not weapons.

Example: A good friend of mine and I like testing eachother in fights… He’s got 540 tanks, 540 exos, 540 KGB-agents… Some of the best equipment the game’s got to offer. I’ve got 1/8 of it. Based on where our attribute points are, I kick his can attacking and defending. If our stats had been placed otherwise, that quite simply wouldn’t be the case, but as it sits, it is what it is. Period.

If you’ve got the Energy for it, the tanks will help, provided your skill points designate it doing so. No matter what level you are.

    End of subject.
